Seafood Nutrition Partnership is conducting grassroots public health educational programs in nine markets across the United States, including West Virginia with a focus on Charleston, WV. We educate citizens about the health benefits of seafood and how to include it more frequently into daily meals.
Charleston was chosen for this effort because:
- WV has the 4th highest rate of cardiovascular disease in the U.S.
- Heart disease is the #1 killer in WV
- Stroke is the #5 killer in WV
